Key Figures of Pakistan
Quaid-e-Azam M. A. Jinnah (1876–1948)
Founder of Pakistan; first Governor-General. Led the All India Muslim League to independence.
Allama Iqbal (1877–1938)
Poet-philosopher and spiritual father of Pakistan; gave the concept of a separate Muslim homeland in 1930.
Sir Syed Ahmed Khan (1817–1898)
Reformer who stressed modern education for Muslims; founded MAO College (later AMU) Aligarh.
Liaquat Ali Khan (1895–1951)
First Prime Minister of Pakistan; assassinated in 1951.
Fatima Jinnah (1893–1967)
Sister of Quaid-e-Azam; played a key role in Pakistan Movement; known as Madar-e-Millat.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (1928–1979)
